Can I apply a discount code to an existing purchase?

Unfortunately, we cannot apply a discount to an existing purchase, only new purchases.

Many clients ask us if it would be better to cancel the order, and then reorder to be able to get the discount.  When an order is placed, however, there are certain costs that we incur that cannot be reversed, which is why we have the following policy in place:

I completely understand that from a customer's point of view it can be disheartening to miss a sale, but from a business standpoint, it would be detrimental to apply the discount to all of our purchases.
